The client acquired this spectacular site on the very edge of the River Trent with a small timber chalet, located on an active flood plain. After an enormous amount of negotiating with Planners and The Environment Agency, planning approval was gained for a replacement dwelling.

The house had to be designed to withstand a flood event and is therefore elevated above the flood level. The use of large areas of high performance glazing makes the most of the views available. The crisp contemporary open plan interior benefits from split levels.
